Another day, another venue… Lightwoods House is tucked away in Bearwood, on the southwestern edge of Birmingham. Lightwoods House is a Grade II-listed Regency mansion beautifully restored to its 18 th century glory.
Lightwoods House is set within nearly 12 hectares of thoughtfully maintained Lightwoods Park just on the outskirts of the City of Birmingham.
Within the house there are so many eye catching features and multiple rooms to choose from to get married in. If your having a small intimate wedding of 40 guests or less the Chance Room is the perfect option, you’ll find the Chance Room on the ground floor, the room features high ceilings and tall windows along with a gorgeous fireplace and wooden flooring.
If you’re having a slight larger gathering the Long Room which can host up to 80 daytime guests and 130 guests in the evening. Situated at the top of the house with gorgeous bay windows at the end of the aisle which allows plenty of natural light to stream in and gorgeous views of the park.
Finally there’s a gorgeous outdoor option of The Shakespeare Gardens and Marquee, which can host up to 100 guests. This gives you the best of both an indoor and outdoor wedding. The Marquee is located in the private gardens behind the house. Brick walled to ensure privacy from the park itself. Perfect for the warmer months and longer days. After 9pm you can continue your celebrations inside so the fun doesn’t have to stop just cause the sun has gone down.
Now when it comes to a wedding the food is a huge part of it and is something your guest will always remember. Lightwoods House offers a variety of options when it comes to catering to suit every couples needs, you can opt for the traditional sit down meal or go for something abit more alternative that we’re seeing a lot more at weddings these days and that’s street food, barbecues, hog roasts and pizza. Lightwoods House provides the bar for weddings and a bespoke menu can be created.
